Founded in 1999 by Matt Hall in Sydney, Australia, apsilon design began as a consultancy focused on IT, offering network infrastructure design and technical support for small businesses. The business remained active in the IT sector until 2015, drawing on Matt's 30 years of experience in the industry and his lifelong passion for all things mechanical and electrical.

In 2022, after a significant shift in direction, the business was reimagined and transformed into its current form—a creative "maker" studio. This transition marked the beginning of a new chapter, reflecting Matt's desire to pursue his passion for hands-on design and craftsmanship.
